Tarrick Qahash
Graduate Student
University of Notre Dame
Tarrick is a 4th year Ph.D. student in the Ferdig Lab. His research centralizes on the role of biological fitness and metabolism in parasite transmission and antimalarial resistance. He is looking to identify and understand the genetic markers that promote strain survival in admixed populations. He plans to use CRISPR-based methodologies and metabolomics to evaluate compensatory mechanisms utilized by the parasite to maintain fitness.
