Tim Anderson and Xue Li (Texas Biomed) are co-directors of Core B (“Peaks to Genes”) which will will provide (i) genomic analysis of parents and bulk progeny to localize QTLs, (ii) nanopore sequencing of parental parasites to expand the genome regions in which we are able to map QTLs, (iii) bioinformatic approaches to fine-map and prioritize genes in QTL regions, (iv) CRISPR/Cas9 knock out and SNP editing followed by functional analysis to identify candidate genes.
