Tonny is a graduate student and part of Ashley Vaughan’s team.  He is interested in understanding the basic biology of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. Currently, he is using genetic crosses and phenotypic trait analysis to examine the contribution of the mutations C469F and R561H in the Kelch13 gene to artemisinin resistance in clinical isolates from Rwanda.
